Counseling and Social Emotional Learning
WSG is committed to the mental health and well-being of our students. Our full-time certified counselor provides both individual and group counseling for students and their families. Counseling services are complemented by an advisory group system that provides support from teachers and peers and incorporates intentional social-emotional learning throughout the year.
Family Partnership and Support
WSG believes that parents are the primary educators of their children and are essential partners in education. We engage families in their daughter’s learning by communicating consistently and openly and inviting parents into the classroom and on field trips when possible. We also provide special assistance to families as needed to ensure that learning is not interrupted by outside factors. We are committed to helping families access a broad range of resources through our community partnerships.
WSG Family Connections Program
The Family Connections Program promotes home-school-community connections to enhance the overall environment of learning and engagement. Through Family Connections, our parents co-lead monthly meetings that allow families to stay abreast of in-house and external community events that support both student and parent learning. A small group of Family Connections parents/guardians also act as Grade Level Parent Leaders (GLPL) who collaborate and coordinate social and giving events such as Teacher Appreciation Week, champion as Parent Ambassadors, and co-lead parent-to-parent workshops to strengthen the school community.
