Health and Safety

WSG is dedicated to healthy and safe on-campus learning, and our first priority is the wellbeing of our students and staff. We have developed comprehensive policies and procedures for our school community to mitigate the risk of the spread of COVID-19.

We want you to be fully informed about our safety measures. You can read our full Healthy Campus Plan here. This plan is up-to-date as of October 25, 2022.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Mayor Bowser has announced COVID-19 vaccination requirements for all adult employees, contractors, interns and volunteers working in-person in schools, effective November 1, 2021. The Washington School for Girls is fully adhering to this order.

Students and Families

We have a number of policies in place to ensure that WSG remains a joyful environment for learning. Our Student and Family Handbook (August 2022), Wellness Policy, and Bullying Prevention Policy guide our decision-making school-wide.

School Cancellations Due to Weather

In all cases, please refer to the Prince George’s County Public School System for information on whether WSG will be open. WSG follows Prince George’s County weather decisions. However, if the situation presents that WSG is in session and Prince George’s County schools are not, we will make an independent decision and communicate to our community through our regular communication channels.

When there is early dismissal due to weather, Extended Day activities are canceled. This is to be sure that students and staff can get home before conditions worsen.
