Congratulations, Class of 2023!

On June 9 we celebrated our newest WSG alumnae, the Class of 2023, in our traditional promotion ceremony. After years of modified ceremonies, we were so thrilled to experience this rite of passage together with our whole community.  The promotion marked the end of their WSG journey but the beginning of their new chapters of lifelong learning. We look forward to how they will impact the world as both WSG alumnae and courageous women.

This year we welcomed Danita Johnson, President of Business Operations for D.C. United, as our commencement speaker. She reflected on the impact of faith in her life, and shared her wisdom with our students and families as they prepare for the future. She reminded the graduates that “We may not see everything in front of us, but our faith drives us forward.”

We also welcomed WSG alumna London Hall ’15, who recently graduated from Old Dominion University, to share a reflection on her educational journey since leaving WSG. She shared this message with the Class of 2023: “I encourage you to move forward into this next chapter of your life with confidence, conviction, and faith that all of the things that are meant for you will be for you. Focus on showing up as yourself at all times, and all the goodness that is destined for you will fall into place.”

I know that the Class of 2023 will take her advice, and am so proud of each and every one of them for their dedication to their education in the face of all the ups and downs of the pandemic, distance learning, social distancing, and tremendous loss. Throughout it all, they persevered.

Thank you to our partners, families, and community for supporting them throughout their time at WSG!
